Golf training sessions: how often and how much?

There may be some similarities between the two — but the exercise program ideal for improving your golf game should have its own structure and focus.


Two of the most critical to consider factors are frequency and volume of training.


Formation of volume is the amount of exercise performed in a single workout session. Frequency is the number of sessions in a given week (or month). These two factors are adjustable for the year to accommodate and improve your fitness and your golf performance.


As a general rule


A simple rule for you help maintain a balance between playing activity and physical fitness is as follows: more your game - the lighter your training volume should be. And your game - more your training volume activity should be.


Training volume refers to the amount of collective exercise performed in a given day. It can be: flexibility training, basic training, cardiovascular conditioning, balance and strength.


Golf seasons dictate


As an example… Most golfers play more frequently in the spring and summer seasons. Therefore training sessions during these phases should be shorter, more condensed. At the time of the year, when a golfer plays less, such as the winter - season, the workouts can be more and perhaps more intense.
